When someone says XT22 they mean 2T22/3T22. Most of the time one cannot tell if it is a 2T22 or a 3T22 unless it can be seen in the video.

@gene5335 You are correct. There is no "all clear" tone.

@titanicposeidonfan12 Yes... briefly about a mile away. But it was very weak and was most likely an EF 0.

My aunt says since she lives in Iowa they only do it when theres an actual tornado touching down. Is that true?

@schildgen1 Polk County's outdoor warning sirens now activate for tornado warnings and for winds in excess of 70 miles per hour. This is a change from the past when a tornado warning (Doppler radar indicated tornado or otherwise) would cause the local Emergency Management offices to trigger the outdoor alarms. A tornado does not have to be physically on the ground to cause the alarms to sound. Doppler radar indicated is enough.
