CONVERSATION BETWEEN DAMON AND ELENA:

Elena: How did this happen?

Damon: We thought of EVERYTHING, Elena. Klaus having hybrids, Mikael turning on us, we brought in Katherine so you weren't in danger. ANYTHING that could have gone wrong, we were prepared!

Elena: I don't understand. Stefan wanted Klaus, dead. More than anything! That's what we were counting on!

Damon: He (or maybe "we" I can't tell) blew it.

Elena: Where's Katherine?

Damon: She's running for the hills, like usual! The minute things got bad. And who blames her?! Klaus would have crushed her! I had him, Elena. I had, Klaus! This could have all been over!

Elena: Hey! Damon, hey! Hey listen to me! We'll survive this. We always survive. Trust me.

Damon: We're never getting Stefan back. You know that, don't you?

Elena: Then we'll let him go. Okay? We'll have to let him go.

the vampire diaries has created a relationship between damon and elena that is something utterly unique and beautiful. If this relationship didnt exist i dont think many people would bother watching the show anymore. <3

The only constant in life is CHANGE. Elena is changing and growing. A young, heart broken girl needed Stefan once upon a time but as fast as those two came together they were falling apart. Damon is helping Elena become a mature young woman. It'll always be Stefan until Elena becomes a strong young woman. If Katherine is & has always loved Stefan more, logically, the opposite would be true for Elena, she'll choose Damon, becouse she's NOT katherine. Delena has a slow build and should be endgame.

I want Damon and Katherine together. I think that Damon still loves Katherine, he was worried about her safety, and he's loved her for like 145 years, and that just doesn't die easily. I mean, Elena will eventually go back to Stefan, because he is her true love.
