@kangaroocomedy i was there as well and can verify this story....dirk had told leggy that 'life was i big movie anyways and were all actors' as he put it and nasty said'right,lets go out and try some o that tea everyones been talkin bout' so while the actors played at che the real rutles were out looking to score some tea... we later met up at the hotel . but we didnt get paid ..they told us to sod off and act like we got paid..they settled for coffee..they coldnt score any tea.

I'm sick of the young metal fans who make fun of the Rutles because they were poppy and didn't perform well in stadiums. Well duh! They didn't have good amps back then. You don't think all that time performing 12 hour shows at Krakow didn't make them a great band?

My aunt was lucky enough to see The Rutles at Che Stadium. She never recovered her hearing from the screaming fans. For some reason, she always liked to wear a beret and mumble incoherent Spanish since seeing that concert.
