This is, by far, my fastest chocobo, and upon seeing the 176 km speed (that's 109 mph), I was stunned. The video covers moving from rank C to rank S and is split into 3 segments. With a chocobo this fast, S rank looks like a walk in the park. Even Teioh is not much of a challenge. You can actually tell what it's speed and stamina are going to be. This chocobo's top speed is 10% above that of the player's chocobo and its stamina is 25% above. Both are rounded down to the preceeding integer. 176 Km/h for the speed means 176+17 or 193 for his chocobo's top speed. If I can get a chocobo whose top speed is 233 or higher, and if the speed is an 8-bit unsigned variable, then Teioh's top speed would be 233+23, 256, or 0. Why 0? Variable overflow. 256 is 0x0100 (as a 16-bit value) and as 8-bit, the "01" is left out giving just 0x00, zero. A top speed of 0... now that's racing material!
To boost odds of winning, switch to manual control right away (press select), press and hold the R1 and R2 buttons, and when the chocobos take off, press [] to speed up. Avoid sprinting. If you're familiar with the "tortoise and the hare" story, pacing will allow for greater success. The difference in speed, strangely, is very miniscule. Holding the R1 and R2 buttons together allows the stamina meter to be recharged further enhancing success. Since 99% of the items given are useless junk to me, even elixirs and turbo ethers (thanks to W-item and enemies that knowingly give these), I almost always get GP instead of the item. Also, note the gil. This is my new current record (as of May 30, 2008).
The first segment covers getting to the chocobo racing area and the first four races. Take note of how far the others are left behind. I'm just crossing the finish line while the others are still going through the spiraling climb. I have to wait a minute for the short course and 1 1/3 minutes for the long course for the others to catch up. I've deleted this boring part out. The entire C class is covered with one of B. Even with B, the others are still in that spiral climb! I could almost do 3 full laps of the C class before the others do just one.
The second segment covers the rest of B and all of A. In A rank, I still leave them far behind though I could almost lap them if it was a 2-lap race.
The third segment contains five S-rank races. Even these chocobos are often left behind quite far. If you win 10 or so S-rank races, you get 5 bonus items.
You have more than 1 billion 400 million gil...let me guess. Gil Plus materia and facing the magic pots in the north crater?

No gil plus materia was ever used. It's selling mastered "all" materia. Each AP you get on an "all" materia is like getting 40 gil. Put 5 "all" materia on Cid's javelin and defeat sea worm (worth 200 AP) and you're essentially getting 80,000 gil each. However, I've gone much further - I've filled up several double and triple growth slots with nothing but "all" materia, leaving the armor for the other stuff. This means I'm getting essentially 250,000 gil per sea worm.

I have a black with a top speed at 176 as well, if I recall. It's been about 3 years (roughly 100 million seconds) since I last touched FF7 so memory is quite fuzzy on this.
