Super Apps Characteristics of NewsFlash for BlackBerry

Always-on -
- The application registers itself as a content handler for ".OPML" file so that the users can download an OPML file and import the feeds in the application.

Tight Integration with Native Apps -
- Once installed the users will see an 'Open Attachment' option the mail client when the users receive an OPML file by email and an 'Open' option the File Browser when the user selects an OPML file. Selecting any of these options will launch the application and import the feed in the application.
- Articles shared by Email or PIN Message and feeds exported by email, all these messages appear in the list of messages in 'Messages' so that users can check the status of such messages.

Social and Connected -
- Users can share news articles by Email or PIN Message with their friends. The application uses the Native clients to send these messages. The application also allows users to export feeds saved as Bookmarks in the application by Email.
- Users can read the full articles by selecting the 'Read Full Story' option which launches the 'BlackBerry browser and open the article.

Designed For Efficiency -
- The application supports offline reading. Articles downloaded from the web are stored in the application so that the users can read them at their convenience without paying for the data charges again and again.
- The application can use almost all connection methods including BIS and Wi-Fi which allows them to select the best option as per their requirements and availability.

Other -
- NewsFlash allows users search for news using Bing, Google or Yahoo! News Search by creating a custom feed based on keywords. For instance if a user wishes to know what's latest about 'BlackBerry Torch 9800' he/she can create a feed with 'BlackBerry Torch 9800' as the keyword and select any one of the three search providers.

NewsFlash was the first ever RSS reader for BlackBerry that allows import of feeds by OPML and News Search by Bing, Google or Yahoo! News Search and still is the only one to offer these features.
