A great cover of Bathory's Call From The Grave (from Under The Sign Of The Black Mark 1987 album).

Emperor is an influential Norwegian black metal band that represents a synth laden, progressive yet brutally aggressive and chaotic part of the genre, something quite different from the minimalism of other originators of the Norwegian black metal sound (e.g. Darkthrone).

The band was formed around the core members Samoth (Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen) and Ihsahn (Vegard Sverre Tveitan) of the death metal band Thou Shalt Suffer and bass player Mortiis (Håvard Ellefsen) in Notodden, Norway, 1992.

  • where has the past 20 years gone!!

  • @LivingdeadMetal Yeah, true. It's an acquired taste tbh.

  • @Razor745

The EP had bad production sound and better atmosphere in my opinion.

  • @LivingdeadMetal I disagree. Although I prefer I Am The Black Wizards and Cosmic Keys To My Creation And Times from that EP to be honest. But their debut had Inno A Satana, you just can't beat that :3

  • @Razor745

Emperor [EP] sounded better than their debut album.

  • @LivingdeadMetal I'm not sure. I love all Emperor albums/eras.

  • @Razor745

    I think it's better.

  • @LivingdeadMetal True, true. But I don't think Ihsahn & co are particularly proud of their early work.

  • @Razor745

    They should have a re-release!

  • @LivingdeadMetal I don't think there are many copies left.
