Operation Tomahawk Strike 11 Karkh District / Haifa St., Baghdad January 24, 2007 U.S. Soldiers from the 3rd Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division alongside Iraqi soldiers from the 6th Iraqi Army Division engage insurgents from the high-rise in the Haifa Street area during security operations. Operation Tomahawk Strike 11 is one of a series of targeted raids to disrupt illegal militia activity

Conflict:
Operation Iraqi Freedom

Equipment:
M107 - The M107 Long Range Sniper Rifle is a semi-automatic .50 BMG sniper rifle adopted by the U.S. Army in the early 2000s, and is also sold as the Barret M107 commercially. It is a new designation of the M82 Special Applications Scoped Rifle (which has also been commercially available from Barrett as the M82 series) in the US military. The M107 is used for traditional sniper tasks, but is especially useful for long-range, counter-sniper, and anti-material roles over more traditional smaller bore sniper rifles. There are no significant differences between the Barrett M82A1M/M82A3 and the M107. However, production M107s appear to have the addition of a rear monopod and there are rumors of internal improvements as well, but information has not been especially plentiful. The M107 was voted one of 2005's Top 10 Military Inventions by the U.S. Army.

M203 - M203 generally refers to the United States Army designation for a single shot 40 mm grenade launcher that attaches to the M16 assault rifle or the M4 Carbine. Stand-alone variants exist as do versions capable of being used on many other rifles. The device attaches under the barrel and forward of the magazine, the trigger for it being just forward of the magazine. The magazine functions as a handle of sorts when firing for the M203. A separate sighting system is added to rifles with the M203 as the rifle's regular sights are not matched to the launcher. The M203 can fire high-explosive, smoke, illuminating, buckshot direct fire, CS gas, and training grenades.

AK-47 - The AK-47 (Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947) is a gas-operated assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, produced by Russian manufacturer IZH and used in many Eastern bloc nations during the Cold War. It was adopted and standardized in 1947. Compared with the autoloading rifles used in World War II, the AK-47 was generally lighter, more compact, with a shorter range, a smaller 7.62 × 39 mm cartridge, and was capable of selective fire. It was one of the first true assault rifles and remains the most widely used. The AK-47 and its numerous variants and descendants have been produced in greater numbers than any other assault rifle and are in production to this day.

Location:
Iraq, Baghdad - Baghdad is the capital of Iraq and of Baghdad Governorate. It is the second-largest city in Southwest Asia after Tehran and the second-largest city in the Arab world after Cairo, and the largest city in Iraq, with the 2003 population estimated at 5,772,000. Situated on the Tigris River at 33°20′N 44°26′E, the city was once the center of Dar al-Islam, Muslim civilisation.
