Boeing 767-300ER of Thomson Airways in First Choice livery landing at sunny Gatwick!
Good view of the vortex produced by the VG on the engine cowling flowing over the flap, demonstrating how vortex flows are far more resistant to separation.

The little squares on the outer flaps are also Vortex generators, used to stop flow seperation over the flap.

  • By little squares do you mean speedbrakes / spoilers?

  • @jackd166 No, underneath the spoilers on the actual flap istself is a row of tiny squares sticking up, these are the vortex generators. there are also some at the front of the wing
