This is a tutorial of how to get a realistic sounding electric guitar using 2 amp plugins and 1 instrument plugin. I am using FL studio as my host application.

The 2 amp plugins are:
- Tubebaby: This is a Freeware plugin and a simply google search will get you to the latest version.
- Guitar Rig 3: This is NOT free but there may be an alternate way of getting it (DO NOT ASK ME FOR IT)

The instrument plugin is:
- Realstrat - Again this is NOT free but you may be able to get it through an alternate method

SETTINGS FOR PLUGINS:

REALSTRAT: Default setting. The only thing you have to do is go into settings and change the range to C0 to C7 to get the full range.

TUBEBABY: Turn the the 'gain' on and put it to 10 and the 'master' to 1.15. Experiment with the other settings (i usually turn the bass down)

GUITAR RIG 3: I use the 'Always with the satch(LEAD)' setting and change nothing else.

Note: These settings do not sound that good with chords but are great for solos.

I hope this tutorial helped (Again sorry for tha bad quality) and if you have any questions just comment or pm me ;)

  • I swear I heard Viva La Vida in there somewhere...

  • @Lethys1 haha i hope that was an intended pun on the satch-coldplay lawsuit haha

  • So this doesn't sound good with chords, i would like a heavy rhythm sound for chords, do you have any advice on making that or should i just mess around with the settings a bit?

  • @Subject134127 hmm thats a very good question. Realstrat itself isnt great with chords that could be the initial reason why only a solo works well . So basically if you want good chords i might suggest looking for a base instrument that initially makes a good chord sound, even if it isnt electric guitar, such as realguitar 2, which is acoustic but plays chords well (its acoustic with the amps it sounds electric). Also keep an eye on vst called electi6ity, it might just be better for that.

  • @thiagovares not everyone can afford a guitar, and certainly not all of us can play a guitar! ;)

  • @projectvenusblake Nvm, I figured out what was wrong.

  • Everything ended up sounding like garbled shit. What am I doing wrong, lol?

  • uhh try dimmension pro (cakewalk) plugin... it has great guitar samples.. plus guitar rig.. I dont have any videos up here at the time but heres a demo, and u can get any sound this is just the one I needed for obvious it sounds right reasons.. soundcloud () com /joshuabisher/guitar-groove

  • Thanks for posting this. I've been trying to make my own metal music (covers so far) using Cakewalk Studio Bass, dkh, and FLSlayer through Guitar Rig, and I've been looking for a more realistic guitar plugin, as Guitar Rig makes the guitar sound more realistic but it still sounds very sloppy and too loud. I just downloaded Tubebaby, and I will do a Torrent search for Realstrat (as I am too poor to pay for any downloads lol).

  • It sounds a bit midi-ish, but still, it's cool.

  • is "realstrat" free ? If yes, where can i find it ? Please ?

  • i have problen with 'Always with the satch(LEAD)', it dosnt appear in guitar rig. where i can found it, or i cant?, please help.
