This video is of Lance Brown performing as Will Rogers at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. A little grainy visually but the irony of the commentary still rings true. Thanks to those of you interested in this time in history and how it connects with what's going on today.

  • This video implies that the video is actual footage from the real Will Rogers from the 20's. That is just not believable.

This is an actor playing Will Rogers.

First of all this is a color video and they did not have color in the 1920. Let alone sound. The first talking movies came out in 1929. Also this was filmed with multiple cameras which was not done in 1920. The info of this video needs to set the record straight.

  • Sorry you felt this was misleading. I have clarified in the description that I am the actor playing Will Rogers. If you visit my homepage you will see that my intention there is let people know I am acting the part. Perhaps I should make that clearer on each video.

  • Now I see where Jon Stewart got it from!

  • Oh yeah! Will Rogers was the grand daddy of all the social commentators. Thanks for the visit.

  • Never heard of this guy before!

    THANKS A LOT!!!

    Reminds me of Bill Hicks..

  • Glad you now know about him. He was as important as Mark Twain in his own way but there is no way to teach him in school in that he can't be categorized as an author and therefore taught as literature. He had 7 books that were compilations of his newspaper columns. He was the biggest movie star and radio personality of his day as well. Thanks for your interest.

  • There are very few people who have the basic insight as to the folly of U.S. and world politics and events. Mark Twain was one, Will Rogers the other. We really need them both today to ease some of the tension and fears of the "Great Recession." Thanks for posting.

  • Will was a great man, superstar hero, god of the prairie...and by Godfrey, that man was the damnedest roper..phenomenal..!
