MarCum 625 SD footage from Devils Lake, ND

In-Depth Outdoors put a video camera on the display of a MarCum 625 SD and let it roll during a recent shoot and captured walleye, perch, pike and crappie action under the Devils Lake ice on 3/8/11. Huge schools of perch and marauding pike are shown on the MarCum 625 SD display along with walleye and the occasional crappie.

the whole minnow is to big...... on our lake we were using the lindy darter tipped with a minnow head and we slaughtered the jumbo perch

As mentioned in some of the other replies, we tried a lot of different spoons and baits tipped with minnow heads. The fish wanted nothing to do with them.

Where on DL is this??? I live in devils lake. I would love to hit a spot like that!! At 10 ft!!

It wouldn't be a good idea to name the exact spot given the thousands that have watched and will watch this video but if you are familiar with the few areas that crappies are caught with some regularity on Devils... you'll have it narrowed down pretty darn good.

Normally you're 100% right. We tried the spoon and minnow head first. Then tried a bead chain dropper. Switched sizes and colors. They would only peck at the minnow head. Tiny live minnows are my last resort and it is about the only thing they would eat on this day.

Also DL perch wont really go for whole minnow. Shoulda tried using just a head and small swedish pimple
