Is 'wildcamping' an option??

Hmmm...not really. Most of the obvious overnight stops are in villages. You'd have to replan the stages to be in open country at night - and still have to get permission from the land-owner. Also, for me, the fact that fellow walkers end up in the villages meant making new friends which was part of the fun. Hope this helps your planning.

This was so exciting for me to stumble over! I am planning my solo trip for May 2010 and am gathering info. Is it easy to find camping places along the route?

Camping is a bit hit and miss...especially in Shap. Look at my video part 2 where I include my itinerary and overnight stops.
