BOSTON- Coast Guard crews conducted an underwater examination Friday of the Gloucester, Mass.-based fishing vessel Patriot, which sank Jan. 3, claiming the lives of both crew members aboard. Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Teams deployed a remotely operated vehicle from the Coast Guard Cutter Juniper, a 225-foot buoy tender from Newport, R.I., to capture footage of the sunken vessel for Coast Guard marine casualty investigators. (Coast Guard video by Petty Officer 3rd Class Connie Terrell)
To bad they didn't report about the over 2 hour delay to even start searching the waters. They wasted so much time crussin the piers when they were told the Patriot was out to sea. One more screw up for the coast guard. I know they save lives most times, but not this time. If they had gone right to sea & searched, I wonder if Matt and his father-in-law would still be alive.

Are you sure you're all trained in properly using that equipment? You're obviously not trained in tracking fishing boats when they're in distress. RIP Matt and Batista!!
