Hah hah I had no idea legendary bust Hensley "Bam Bam" Meulens was still in the majors in 1998.

This is so awesome. So much of my childhood in the late 90s/early 00s involved listening to Gary & Bob call games - either on my radio in my room or as a passenger in the car!

@pheniafilms I wouldn't say it's worse, but just an entirely different experience, though Citi is a bit of a novelty stadium like the rest of them. It may not be the same but this is just what baseball needs right now because it has been waning in popularity lately and the stadiums were crumbling. Just like the reality show on the Giants; even though some say it's "selling out", I think it's just what baseball needs right now, even if it's a bit of a change in the lineup (no pun intended).

this is nice.. great shots.

Could've sworn that this was the 99 NLCS Game 6 with that 1st Inning.

This is classic. The Mets were a joke before Piazza came. Craig Paquette? Tim Spehr? There weren't 15,000 at the game. People complain about how small attendance is at Citi. They should have seen Shea in the lean years.

@tristen539 Super 8 video wasn't exactly known for it's resolution or clarity. Surprised he still had that film and camera working even back in '98. Honestly looks like it could have been from the 60's.

Piazza was over rated if you ask me...great hitter/clutch..worst defensive catcher ive ever seen..didnt think he deserved the 'last game at Shea' ceremony walking out with Seaver..

WOW! I didn't know anyone we still using Super 8 film in 1998. Second, wonderful job syncing the play by play with the film. You obliviously recorded the game with this mind. Third, I'm guessing that the Jack Lightcap (PA) and Jane Jarvis is from one of the World Series games in between innings. If not, I'd love to know where you found it. Again, great job!
