Just bought this little jewel. Couldn't resist fiddling with it and trying Windows 7 on it. And what do you know, it does 1080p HD video with hardware decoding! 720p is just a breeze for it... I'm pretty glad I waited for it :D

Excuse the camera shaking, my friend was under shock :))

  • Are you using the k-lite codec pack?

Windows 7 work fine with the asus 1101ha?

What is the average battery life you get with it?

  • @jim82jim no klite or other such salads. Media Player Classic Home Cinema. All codecs and DXVA compatibility included. Saves on Windows registry clutter as well.

I have since then swapped the memory to a 2GB stick and the battery has some wear and tear. If just browsing, i have no idea, It seems to last forever and I usually return home. For HD moveis, about 2 feature films. I estimate around 5-6 hours with no WiFi and low brightness.

  • windows 7 aero - support????

  • @satainkara Ies, but I prefer to keep it of. It's sluggish.

  • Does HW acceleration work also for mkv files?

  • @Esiiczko Actually, that was an MKV file fragment

  • You get 5 stars just for using the song. Other than that, pretty good video.

  • What kind of tweaks... Please post :)

  • Hey Andrew...

    Guess Wat...

    Toasty :3

  • @goldragon988 it can do 1080p, but i prefer sticking to 720p for a better experience. In some instances, 1080p can lag a bit behind. For 720p movies with DXVA I usually get somewhere between 5 and 6 hours, with brightness reduced and wireless off.

  • @munteanut se my reply to bnaster25

  • First thing I disabled Aero and in performance settings I let just Visual Styles enabled, to clear as much memory as possible. And most importantly, I sused media player classic and the latest drivers, in order benefit form DXVA.

  • @EnderWiggin78 What tweaks..can you specify? I have the same notebook but 2 Gb of RAM...it barely runs 720p...well it runs ok but with no subtitles...as soon as i add subtitles it goes really blocky...please reply...

  • I'm planning on buying this for watching videos while flying. Can you watch HD 1080p on this and how does it affect battery life? What is the approximate battery life I can expect if I'm watching HD and DVD quality movies?
