As an employee of a Best Buy for several years, I would just like to say that our store was located literally next door to a Circuit City. We threw a party at Big Blue the day CC closed its doors for good. Is that in bad taste?

It's funny because some local Northeast electronic retailer took over that old Circuit City building. Two words: canon fodder.

not in bad taste, but it is kinda pathetic. we were struggling and really offered you guys no competition. so it's pretty much like celebrating after killing a deer with no legs. what did you really accomplish? haha

On the contrary, you guys were the big kids on the block. Best Buy came along later, especially in the Northeast where Circuit City had a 5-10 year advantage of already being there first. That Circuit City next to the Best Buy I worked at was THE electronic store in this area for years. Till Best Buy came along and cleaned the floor with them

Also, Best Buy employees where I worked would deliberately park in Circuit City's lot on Black Friday to take up their spots. God damn relentless at BB

What happened with us was that when I first started, we were in a store pretty much hidden from the world and never got much business. Then we moved to the store you see here which was about 5 minutes down the road from Best Buy which had been there for a while already. However, I was saying for as far back as many a year working with CC that we were NOT going to last. Totally called that one

@Krypton091 Even though I'm replying to a six month old comment, Best Buy has some of the most unhelpful people, many of them are unskilled and practically read a script off to you, the people at circuit city here were knowledgeable and could actually help if you had a problem with some hardware.
