Clips put together of Julius Caesar's triumph in Rome after conquering Gaul and defeating Pompey Magnus. Text and music added too as a reminder that the future can bring anything...in Caesar's case, his demise due to Brutus' (and others') plot for assassination. *Made for the ending of my digital illustration portfolio.

  • Mars is the Roman God of War and didn't they name the planet Mars after him because it was red and it reminded them of blood or something?

  • @agt144 It is the correct way they pronaunced it, Kaezar.

C was pronaunced as K. The later gayification of Latin language led to the ridicilous abomination of the language, which is today spoken only by pompous foosl, who are unaware of their ignorance, or are in denial.

    Ave Caesar!

  • @histatimaniples I'd say "older". I mean, he wasn't 83 years old, with a walking stick.

  • @scottweise18 The face of the man being honored in the triumph was painted red to resemble the face of the statue of Jupiter Optimus Maximus in the Palintine Temple. Roman statues were not left as white marble, but painted and dressed.

  • @beepandbop Nonetheless, old people are not "despised". They are the archetype of the wise and clever.

  • @slayerming1 that was a bit of dramatic flair. My point is that there is an entire industry to try and cover up age. It's rude to ask someone, particularly females, how old they are and so forth.

Age is something in Western culture that is seen as something to be avoided as much as possible.

  • @beepandbop Really older people are despised?
