This man rode 2/3 of his career with a TWISTED PELVIS! He could never rest on the saddle comfortably. Did you read the story of him in his final Vuelta? He kept going after he was trashed because his teammates needed part of his take in order to survive!!! Not Coppi,Bartali,Anquetil, Lance,Mig,Conti, none of them are anywhere close.

the riders today have scientist teamates who train them with the drugs...the riders in the past would tear these riders today up...lance armstrong ? are you kidding ? he is a joke...obree could beat him while eating a scone and drinkin a cup of coffee....25 scottish riders in each county coud destroy armstrong...he is just a make believe media concoction to sell bikes.. duh

Merckx would invite others to ride off the front with him, basically announcing his attack and daring anyone to go with him. They called him the cannibal because he would eat you alive if you had the balls to go with his attacks. Really this video of him on rollers says it all.

WHEN THE SPORT WAS CLEAN!!! They used more drugs then ever and testing was not even close to what we have today!! Back then you would dope with with whatever was available.

Except what was available was useless (amphetamines, in a road race? are you insane?). Dude, he was off the charts. See  hour record.

Dont get me wrong, Merckx was and will allways be the greatest! but please dont tell me thesport was clean! And amphetamines were indeed used my friend,,, not to mention other drugs that were not as insane to use as those but still kicked like a horse!
