This is the discovery of the Sloth victim in the 1995 masterpiece Seven (or Se7en).

I apologise for the framing of the clip. It's the best I could do.

The star of this clip is Michael Reid Mackay (the victim)

Seven is property of New Line and I do not claim ownership. In other words, please don't sue me!

  • I love telling people that the Sloth victim in Seven is a real-live actor and not an animatronic or a dummy. Seriously, kudos has to go to Michael Reid MacKay and the magic of Rob Bottin and his team.

You could dispel the argument over whether horror is psychological or visual with this. This contains the best of both worlds. One the one hand, the ghastly appearance of the victim and on the other hand, just look at the comments below! "How did he survive?" "What did he do?" "Imagine the pain!"

  • @scottiedoesntknow1 it wasn't gluttony, it was sloth. sloth refers to someone not living up to their potential; the man in this scene wasted his life with drugs and sexual promiscuity. essentially, he squandered his life without using any positives to better his life.

  • What happens in this video? I'm to scared to watch....

  • This scene really freaked my out when I 1st saw it.

I couldn't get it out of my head for days, really horrifying.

  • Best psychological thriller (with religious ramifications) ever. End of story.

  • Pride

    Envy

    Greed (Glutton)

    Hatred (Wrath)

    Selfishness

    Sloth/Laziness

    Injustice

    Where does 'lust' fit in?

  • Okay, that's just about the most awful thing I've ever seen.

  • @11kyzak11 He was only in the bed for one year. And he survived because John Doe kept him alive. Just alive enough for life to be torturous.

  • How would he survive for 3 years like that and still be alive with his body in that condition????

  • @guitarreilly The film does imply that he dies in the end though, because at the beginning of the hospital scene two nurses cover the viewing door with a blind or a screen. In a hospital that usually means they are moving a patient that has recently deceased.

  • @guitarreilly * Two nurses cover the viewing door with a blind.
