A Dodge Viper is weaving around cars, goes through a tunnel and realizes traffic has stopped ahead. It's too late, it crashes into the back of a Van. Oops!

Clearly the problem was the blinding light at the end of the tunnel, him speeding didn't help, but still, the sunlight was the main problem.

I think he was blinded by the light outside the tunnel (no pun intended). That always happens when you're leaving the darkness of a tunnel and it's bright outside. When he was finally able to see, it was too late.
