  • If a chute is very narrow then kick turns are the best tactic...other than pointing your skis straight down the fall line...which is obviously not advisable when it is very steep.

    Kick turns allow you to make turns in a very narrow space. The main problem is that when it is steep terrain you can drop 20' or more with each kick turn.

    This is very tricky, difficult and scary but there is no better feeling than when you make it to the bottom and realize what you just did. Awesome!

  • Me too, I don't like narrow places either. But I make a point of skiing narrows so I can get better.

  • Steep chutes are what I find really hard, because give me enough room and I can go down almost anything, but once I run out of room for turns, then I have trouble.
