READ THE DESCRIPTION!

This is me at sennybridge shooting my Lee Enfield rifle at the 1000m range which equals 1100yds. I fired 60 rounds and hit with twelve rounds the targets were 1.75m wide and 1.75m tall. I got a 1m grouping All the other shooters were using high powered scopes and had bipods whereas I shot with my Noble Iron shighted Lee Enfield and did better than some of the modern rifles.

I'm sorry I didn't show the target but they patched up the targets so the next set of shooters shots were set apart from mine, only problem is they patched over mine befre I could see them.

Bullet load= Privy Partisan match grade ammo
and handloads

Long range shooting with iron sights is hard but much more rewarding

  • Hey, how much is a box of 20 303 British where you are? in Canada they run about 30 dollars Canadian for 20.

  • @EhCumminsFan Paying around £55 for a 100 rounds, not sure what that is in Canadian dollars

  • Hey Jubbles, MN 91/30 with a great condition .3115 bore, '37 tula round recv. firing .311 spitzer FMJBT, using either a 174gr, or a 185gr, even a 198gr, with a 4x32 ler scope, My wife helped me extend the stock for 14.14" eye relief with a simple cheek rest and nice sleeping bag, if you were to take my Mosin, how do you think you would do at 1000m compared to ol' Betsy??

  • @alsatian9130 absolutely no idea mate

  • @jubbles2343 > See, ol' Betsy that bloody ol' Brit in .303 has nothing on that nice 'ol slavic Mosin. Lets just agree the two cartridges are neck to neck, mostly depending on the nut behind the machine. Keep your powder dry!

  • @alsatian9130 the 7.62 has a bit more power but the build quality and design leans towards the standard Enfield being more accurate, but then your using a scope which is always a big +

  • Respond to this video... you stay well too mate

  • @truss601 That's completely wrong the No4 has a different, bolt, trigger, magazine, barrel, sight system, and stock to that of the SMLE. The acion follows the same principles but they are very different rifles.

  • Fucking beautiful range! It's really too bad you can't own any cool semi-auto toys to really have some fun with at those distances.

  • @alsatian9130

ill be sure to steam out the receiver ive already polished the bolt :)

  • iron sights? really?

  • @EhCumminsFan in australia they cost about the same. 28 $ for a box of 20

  • @warriorofsteel01 : 6 months later..... sounds to me like one of two things. First, an extractor issue. Second, as the neck expands from the rapid heat, something somewhere is gettting stuck. Third, it could be both of those issues. Vice your MN ( just the receiver ), and get some steam in the chamber, then take a 20ga shotgun brush with the jig already in your drill, and let that drill go. Next, take apart your bolt, and clean the piss out of that extractor, then polish it...

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH : and if I had the South African / UK 174gr ball and a good .311-.312 bore, I would still use the MN1891/30. What I like so much about it is the cartridge it fires, its simplicity, take it apart quick and easy, and most of all the bolt. Lee works wonders for those who can cycle it. I have tried, and failed! But I love em both, I use what I can use best. You do the same my friend! Take care, happy/safe shooting.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH : i love the .303 enfield. In my life I have owned 2 of them. In the end I got rid of them for two reasons, first and foremost, the bore was horrible on both and .3145, second all the great surplus is non-existent in the US. So I am stuck reloading. I know where you live it cost 2-6 times what it does here in US. Yet I am still too poor. I do love the first No.4 MkI I scoped it with a 6x42 fixed short eye. It is great. You use whatever will keep yall alive.

  • @alsatian9130 I know which rifle I would want if I faced a heavy infantry attack- the Lee Enfield everytime. No other bolt action rifle can compete with it for sheer rate of fire- The Mad Minute. There is a clip on YT which demonstrates this ability- the rifleman fires 10 aimed shots in NINE seconds. The Mosin doesn't even come close in terms of rate of fire. Engagements at 1000m+ are very rare indeed for the most part, so the Mosin's slightly better accuracy is not so important.

  • @jubbles2343 Excellent stuff! Great to see the legendary Lee Enfield .303 can still kick the arse of more 'modern' rifles. Nothing to touch the Enfield-slickest & fastest bolt action service rifle ever built. Have had the pleasure of shooting No 4 Lee Enfield- even better than the mighty SLR L1A1, urinates all over the SA80. I am jus about to return to the sport after a few years away, joining a club at Altcar, Formby. I intend to re-acquire my FAC & buy a Lee Enfield :)

  • My only long gun is an Enfield two groove, and I can put three shots in an orange sized target at 100 yards. Shooting a rifle with open sights is where the real skill comes in. Good video but I wish we could have seen the targets.
