January 19, 1942. Giornale Italie. The Netherlands East Indies campaign of 1941-42 was the short-lived defence of the Netherlands East Indies (Indonesia) by Allied forces, against invasion by the Empire of Japan in World War II. The rich oil resources of Indonesia were a major Japanese objective during the war. The campaign and subsequent three and a half year Japanese occupation contributed to the end of Dutch colonial rule in Indonesia.
General Hisaichi Terauchi (also known as Count Terauchi), who was the commander of the Southern Expeditionary Army Group, began the campaign with attacks against Borneo: on December 16, 1941, Japanese forces successfully occupied Miri, an oil production centre in northern Sarawak.

What an ignorant way of looking at the war...

  • @newbreed9991 Yes Indonesia won by themselves.

until end of 19th century, the white invaded almost all over the world.

Asian people are regarded as slaves by the white.

Jap just gave other asians the possibility of independence from the white.

  • @IustitiaPax You know the answer, don't you?

Caucasian imperialistic nations: gave chance to High-education only to those who has affirmative attitude/ loyalty to relevant Caucasian

Japanese imperialism: Caucasian's opportunity + compulsory (6+3) education, regardless to attitude. Any proindependence activists also took 6+3 years education.

Today fewer high-quality percentage? statistics, please. i went to Jakarta January, saw lots of University here & there, and met students.

  • @stupidpropaganda Then why did Sukarno, Hatta and others study in universities? Why? Today fewer Indonesians attend high-quality education in percentage, than in 1934.

  • I NOTICED MOST OF COMMENT HERE ARE POSTED BY DUTCH OR ENGLISH,

AND MOST YOUTUBE ACCOUNT , OF THOSE WHO MAKES STICKY DEBATE, WERE DELETED.

TOTALLY UNWORTY STORM OF PROPAGANDA & NOSTARGY.

  • @WELLBRAN Japan: admitted Indonesian independence in 1944.

Holland and UK(your profile): returned to Indonesia to colonize again after 1945, and killed several thouthands of native Indonesian independentist.

    Different.

  • @IustitiaPax

If it were really prograssive, why most of ordinary Indonesian were only entitled to have elementary school.? Only pro-Dutch people had intemediate/high level education in Ductch, wasn't it.? If so, I am sorry to say that's a poorer education than Japan did in Taiwan/Korea/Manchulia. In addition, Japan never used Opium for colonization tool.

    I wonder what was progressive?

  • @tkmagunam I am Japanese. I would appreciate it if you read more books and notice that Japanese organized Indonesian (Skarno) army and tell them how to make bombs with coconuts and pineapples. cheers.

  • THIS MOVIE CAN NOT DECEIVE INDONESIAN.

  • @pauleau Japanese have never spattered Opium like dutch nor Brittain.

One more, most of rape and murder was targetting on Western Imperialist and its employee, auti-Japanese (chinese) guerrilas.

  • wow indonesian ...nobody know that 2000japanese soldier fought for indonesian indipendence.Almost weapon was given by japanese.
