TROUTMAN, N.C. -- NASCAR driver Kyle Busch offered a public apology Tuesday after he was ticketed for careless and reckless driving in North Carolina.

Deputies said they clocked Busch doing nearly three times the posted speed limit, according to the Statesville Record and Landmark. Busch allegedly was clocked at 128mph (206kph) in a 45mph (72kph) zone while driving a yellow Lexus LFA, a two-seat sport coupe produced as a concept car and production model.

"I was test driving a new sports car and I got carried away," Busch, who was stopped between the towns of Troutman and Mooresville, said in a statement. "I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors and race teams for my lack of judgment.

"I take responsibility for my actions, and I can assure you that something like this will never happen again."

  • You don't need a standard license to race NASCAR. You only need their special license.

  • Idc what you kyle bucsh haters fucking say, kyle bucsh is a great driver, yeah he bumps other drivers but its for the wins hes a great driver and if you think about it he drives just like dale sr, and when i say that i mean by how he races not how aggressive he is

  • I personally got pulled over for going 70 in a 45......13 points, 3 different tickets, $750 and a suspended licence later I still hate kyle Busch and one of these days things are going to catch up with him.

  • @taken113002 I agree with you. If some one had pulled out from a drive or cross road, they would all be dead.

  • @Jonbonjohnson But if it had been one of us, I bet the scenario would have been really different. Like maybe going in a ride in the police car & having the car towed!!

  • well, I would have done the same as Kyle, I would have drivien wide open on the open road, but what gets me is, if it were me who had been caught, they would have given me a $5,000 FINE, a speeding ticket, and suspended my license, they would have did that to anyone, but Kyle got away with it, just a slap on the wrist, just a $500 fine, that's supposed to teach him a lesson?

  • KYLE YOUR FIRED NOW GO AWAY
