U are right that everyone has the right of choosing a religion....But when U carry a name like KHAN in the end, then U will assume he is a Muslim....In Salman Khan's case he says he is a Muslim but also participate in Hindu prayers and bow down to example Ghanesh....I dont know what the Hindu scriptures say, but Islamic say it is the biggest sin, In Islam that is not allowed...But again its his own choice....His mother are U referring to Helen (stepmother) ?

@bigmac19751234 I think everyone in the modern world has a freedom to practise religion on their preferred way though not hurting beliefs and sentiments of others. So is Mallika Arora and Salman's mother. Actually Salman's mother had a choice to raise him in her faith. That apart, Salman has a "freedom" to accept a completely new religion like for example A R Rehman who chose islam. My wish is atleast in 100 years from now, I want people to believe in truth of multiple religions and accept all

As a Muslim it is not allowed to pray to any other God except for Allah ...what they are doing is called "SHIRK" , which mean the biggest SIN in Islam....its very wrong, and the whole family promoting it, is a SHAMEFUL act...they should all be ashamed. Brother I agree with U that as Muslim only worship Allah....But its wrong of U to say That Salman Khan is not a Muslim....we dont know what he is thinking, only Allah knows...the only thing we can is to make Dua that he will follow the path of Allah and not just be a Muslim by name.....cause this guy has Million of followers, I hope he will show some good Muslim behaviors and be a good example.

@wibas2008 - It has nothing to do with a so called "modern word". It is strictly forbidden to married a indouist or a pagan in Islam. So by doing this act, Salman khan is simply denying his faith. Read sourate 2 al baqarah and you'll see for yourself. Salman khan is a great actor, one of my favorite, but as a muslim I can't consider his as a muslim. A muslim could never worship an elephant, a bird or a statue. There is only one God who should be worshipped : Allah all-mighy.
