I love that everyone is this interested in Disney's VOL. To answer someone's question. Mr. Johnson originally arranged "Battle Hymn of the Republic" to end in the key of D-flat. (It changes key with each verse.) However, the VOL commonly sing certain songs a half step higher than written. In this recording, they end in the key of D-major. The first soprano (the lovely Jackie) ends on a high D. If you like this recording - SEE THEM LIVE!!!

The original accapella was written by Derric Johnson for Disney. A friend of mine was friends with him and got the leasing rights to the music and I actually had copies of the sheet music written by hand by Mr. Johnson himself at one time. If I remember correctly the end of this was G or G# with the corresponding E or E# at 1/3 below. But I think the music was changed from the original.I studied most of Johnson's music;this is different than I remember. They may change keys for is now singing it.
Changed it! :-)
