whats the point in using a stand?

The stand in is on the set to allow camera framing and lighting set ups as well as any camera focus changes and tracking shots. This can be very time consuming and the actor is not really needed for this. It also limits the actor's exposure to being photographed by spectators.

thanks for posting this, DC only on for a few seconds but thks its interesting, plus thanks for letting me know the real one, cause i thought the stand in was Daniel.

The crew had all spectator photography nailed down tight when DC was shooting his scenes......I was able to get some footage because I had just come around a corner with my camera running and did not realize that the stand in had been switched and I was filming Mr. Craig himself. In the last shot my camera was unable to come to full focus before the crew stopped me as well.
