The Arabian Oryx is a true "phoenix" of the desert. Eradicated from its home, in the well named "Empty Quarter" of Oman's vast desert, it had returned to its former range through a highly publicised and successful captive breeding programme. But this is not the end of its story, something is happening to push it back towards extinction. What is to blame and what can be done to stop this desert phoenix returning to the fire it once escaped from?
I wrote to the President of OMan and the mission in Washington about this as well as the cultural affairs minister and not one answered me.

@metsdudenj Well done for bringing this to others attention, don't give up. The Arabian Oryx sanctuary has been taken off the world heritage site list but have you tried contacting the arabian oryx project and the relevant Omani ministry such as the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Environment (MRME)?
If not try the times of Oman newspaper or the ministry of tourism. Thanks so much for trying to raise awareness of this issue!
