one old barbecue grill and about $6.00 in hardware saved me $300 .....thule looks cool , but my kayaks could care less...

Your kayaks will care after a while, when they break or rub holes through them. BTW craiglist Always has thule j carriers for about 50 bucks a set

@ChannelRoe what you saw in video was rough set up,i have since added foam padding and eye bolts with ratchet straps, so chill out.

mmmm.... everything is great but do not use those rubber straps.... throw them to the trash can. some one can get seriuos injuries or liabilities if one of the straps breaks during transportation, imagine your yaks falling from you roof in a highway.

@vitojo i have made improvements , what you see in this video is what i put together in an afternoon, now it has foam padding eyebolts and rachet straps
