  • for the people out there who think they can effectively take on a knife wielding lunatic.

    Do the following experiment:

You and your partner both wear protection gear.

Your partner now atacks you full force with a rubber knife.

Noth nice long atacks und then stop.

Buth wild slashes/stabs like you see in prison atack footage.

Now try to defend/disarm him. I think it wil be pretty dificult und ones defense wil be pretty chaotic. gross motor skills.

Don,t forget to film it and puth it on youtube.

  • @Taskmaster300 check out the videos "knife attack myths" and "knife attack myths 2". They show how people attack in the real world. It ain't like a couple of guys playing around in rubber suits with a rubber knife in the training hall.

  • @haffoc I had seen them.

I am noth claiming your techniques don,t work. I am just saying that the real atacks are different than the way you practice the techniques in this video. Of course it is great to train the techniques in a controled matter.

However from my perspective to train more realistic it is better to take on some protective gear and leth someone atack you full force. That comes closer to the real world than (choreographed) techniques where both people now what is gonna happen.

  • @Taskmaster300 I can't disagree with you here. To really feel confident with your stuff, you have to work against a full speed, realistic attack. The stuff shown here is not how we practice it. It's for demonstration purposes.

BTW, these are not my techniques. They are found in books 500-600 years old. This is the stuff people used back in the day. We're trying to understand what they did and why on the theory that they knew better than us what works.

  • @Cynnabonn22 This is the best stuff devised for knife defense. The techniques in this series were created by guys who actually fought against knives/daggers. They work. They are based on a realistic appreciation for how you are going to be attacked. I know people who have used techniques very similar to the ones depicted here to protect themselves from real attacks. To say they "don't work either" is incorrect.

  • 0:14 did they have to include an instructional diagram of how to stab a guy in the dick?

  • @haffoc Woops then i saw it in the wrong context.

I thought you showed it as the solution to the stuff in knife atack myths.

Glad we are on the same page.

Good job learning from the dudes back then who (like you mentioned) where probabley more experienced with weapon assaults then us.

    Peace.

  • @Runermanyoyo I know what you're talking about. You can break his elbow so quick he doesn't have time to think about flicking his wrist. Guy I know did just that in a parking lot against a guy trying to jack his car.

  • They where noth verry nice against each other in the middleages.

As for the knife defense. I think the defender will always be at a disadvantage no matter what he does.Since he needs to do verry fine motor skills with great timing to make it work. While the atacker only needs one wild lucky slash to geth the job done. Noth saying these techniques (or any other) wil noth work.

It is just hard to defend against a commited knife atack.

better to dodge/parry and create distance to back of/flee.

  • @haffoc i'm talking about his wrist.

  • @Runermanyoyo Ya think? No, he wouldn't because you do this properly and you've hyperextended his elbow so he doesn't have an arm to slash you with.

  • 1:00 and if it was a real life situation he could pivot his wrist just a bit and slash your stomach
