Aoi Hitomi~Scar of Time~Flight of Dragons Theme - Low Whistle

This is my "I am a huge dork" medley. :) If you know all three songs ... revel in our dorkiness! Ha ha ha!!!

Aoi Hitomi from Escaflowne, Scar of Time from Chrono Cross, Flight of Dragons theme from ... Flight of Dragons.

Played on a Howard Low D whistle. That whistle is really nice, it has a lovely sound ... it just clogs a lot. xD I have the older model, though, which supposedly clogs more than their newer mouthpiece. But the older one has a more "haunting" sound, so I think I'd still prefer it to the newer mouthpiece.

Two things. One, I play the Chrono Cross piece quite a bit. ;)

Two, if it's clogging a lot, put a drop or two of dish soap in the mouthpiece and gently blow it through. Then turn it over and blow it back out as hard as you can and shake it once or twice. This keeps the moisture from building up and will make it clog infinitely less. I have to do it on my low D and my Busman whistles.

Also, try rubbing your hand/thumb over the mouthpiece first to warm it up, less condensation that way. :)

I know I should do the soap trick, but I've always been too lazy to try it. xD I'll try it one of these days. Usually when it happens, I just put it down and play something else, since everything is nearby. xD

I am geekazised by your geeky video. I loved it. I bought a low flute kerry 3 days ago. I saw the howard flute on the vendors table but it was just too expensive for my geeky but. I like the flow of hte song.

@JonasOrlas I was the same way about it, to the point where I was kinda frustrated with my nice Busman and almost gave up on it. Now I can't live without it. I put a drop or two in between every four or five songs while playing at sessions. I can't live without it. (and I love my whistle now) :)
