@flimper1 Zilzal is one of my favourite ever racehorses as well. It's a real shame that he was retired after only 6 races. Distant Relative was one of the top milers in the following 1990 season with wins in the Sussex Stakes & the Prix du Moulin. He was a good horse but Zilzal was vastly superior to him so surely he would have totally dominated the mile races in 1990 had he stayed in training. I think because of his very short race career and poor stud career he gets forgotten about.
