Apollos (Siberian Husky) Agility 24 Feb 2011

Running my 3 year old husky, Apollos, at training. He has only been doing agility for a year. Has taken most of that year to stop him from taking off for a run as soon as the lead is removed!!!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a cross-over dog walk in your agility course! What country are u in? I'm in Australia and the cross-over walk was done away with after a few months as deemed too dangerous (whether for the dogs or the handlers I'm not too sure).

I'm in NZ. That's interesting about it being abandoned. I'll have to find out if there's any moves to do that here. I was at a show in Dec and it was used twice in the same course. I'd love to not have to use it as I always feel like I'm going to trip over the ends! :)

Thats amazing!! :-) I have just started doing agility with my husky, and it's great to know that with hard work he will be able to do it off lead like your dog. Thank you so much for sharing :-)

@chad5004 Don't give up! You'll get there :) It takes a lot of work, but its so worth it! Everyone loves to watch him run (even if he does run off - which can be a lot still) because you don't see many huskies in agility. I've not come across another in my area.

@EKHartwig Forgot to say it was probably 12-14 years ago that we briefly had the cross-over walk..

Beautiful! Your Sibe looks just like mine with the same markings and size. :) Mine is almost 3.

Awesome! I have yet to see another husky do the weave poles as well as yours. Wonderful training. =)
