On October 9, 2010, I awakened early at 6 A.M., and hurriedly got dressed, ate breakfast, and grabbed my camcorder and headed to Pacific, MO, about 36 miles from the house. The UP "Challenger, " led by the UP 3985 steam locomotive, was heading west, and would be making a 15-minute whistlestop in Pacific. This was part of their Railroad Day Festival celebration, which also included Civil War reenactments and displays of vintage farm equipment in action, as well as plenty of good food and miscellaneous entertainment and arts & crafts exhibits. As you can see in this video, the events drew a huge crowd, especially the whistlestop of the UP 3985 "Challenger." While waiting for the "Challenger," I also observed two UP freight trains and the westbound Amtrak "Missouri River Runner" blasting its way through town at 75 mph. A lot of fun was had by all, especially us railfans!!! We were in hog heaven!!! Enjoy!!
What Model John Deere was that?

3985 is awesome but isn't it a bit dangerous that there are no fences to stop anybody getting in the way of 75 mph trains?
