Lighting and blowing out a candle with high voltage
The voltage ist around 30kV, and the power is about 50W.
I used a DST (those transformers which can be found in tube TVs) and a NE555 driver for it.
The candle lights when the arc burns the wick.
The candle is blown out by ionic wind. This ionic wind is produced when the voltage ist too low to cause an arc. I used a adjustable power supply to select the voltage for the HV driver, and I gradually increased the voltage in the beginning until the candle lighted.
This device also produces lots of ozone...
