Wow man!!! You are my hero!!!!
-
I love the syncopated rhythm you get on this tune! It chugs along like a train on rails.

If you read Miles Krassen's "Clawhammer Banjo" you should also read his book "Appalachian Fiddle" because the it is more specific on the rhythm than is CH Banjo

Nicely played

I've heard a good few versions of Kitchen Girl on you tube but this is my favourite by far. Has to be the coolist song on banjo too.

@sarzen1 Thanks for that! Glad you enjoyed it. This tune is a lot of fun to play on the banjo for sure.

Thanks for the compliment...You can find tabs for Kitchen Girl in a number of books... Miles Krassen's "Clawhammer Banjo", "The Banjo Pickers Fakebook", and probably many others. It's a fairly common tune in the old-time world. I play it in gDGBD tuning, some folks play it in the G modal tuning (gDGCD).

Thanks! :)
Is that the book you got it from? Krassen? I heard a few versions but I find the version you play to sound the best.

My version is really a mish-mash of several versions. I think I learned this tune trying to emulate Dwight Diller's playing (on his album Banjo 99). However, over the years I've probably changed it a bit. Really I learn almost completely by ear and rarely use Tab so I'm afraid I don't think there's a tab version out there that would completely match my playing. I'd recommend checking out Dwight's version. I think he has some tabs on his website, perhaps Kitchen Girl is on there.
