  • Black is lost whether he plays h5 or not. If instead ...Bh7 (to keep defending the f5 pawn) White then plays h5 himself. Now Bg8 drops the f5 pawn and Ke6 allows Kc5 with a simple win in either case.

    Blacks position was already too dire to be salvaged.

  • Terrible, why would black play h5?? to lose the game when all he has to do is move the B back and forth for a draw.
