It seems a strange choice for the actress in this. I mean, in the short story that this is based off, Miss Bobbit befriends a coloured girl, and everyone comments on how odd they look together, and laugh at them calling each other sister, so i expected the actress to be the typical blonde-hair blue-eyed girl of the 1940's Alabama

The movie is about a charming 13 year old with a heart of gold. She is new in town. The plot revolves around this girl and two friends who fall in love with her. They end up exposing a con-man in their town. A fairly decent family movie.
