Record Tutorial 2 Sidechain Compression

My 2nd tutorial for Propellerhead's Record Software. This tutorial covers sidechain compression in Record. does reason record support vsti?

No, you will still have to use rewire to link record to another DAW (if you have Reason 4 installed, all the devices will show in Record, so it won't be a case of having 3 apps open - it will be just Record and the DAW you choose to rewire to). If you don't want to spend loads of money on Cubase or Logic then I recommend a low cost DAW to host your VSTi's such as Reaper from Cockos. (google it). Its a great, low cost app which also runs great on Netbooks.

how do i get rex to audio

Solo the track which contains the REX loop, and then export the song (or the portion between the L and R locators) then create a new audio track and import the loop that you exported. You can now either delete or mute the rex track.

Yep thats the idea. It helps the kick to punch through the mix, and to make the other elements (in this case the noizemaker sound) to "pump". Cheers!

very cool tip. thanks. I guess the noize maker is getting compressed from the kick so the kick will stand out more?
