Eva Cassidy died in obscurity aged 33 in 1996 of melanoma but her music had a following among fellow artists including Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton. But it was not until the famous Irish DJ Terry Wogan aired her CD Songbird on the BBC in 2000 that enthusiasm for her work took off internationally. Finally the Californian figure skating world champion Michelle Kwan introduced Cassidy's music to a mass US audience when she skated to a recording of Fields of Gold in the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Beautiful song by Paul Simon, Beautifully performed by Eva Cassidy. Two of the most gifted artists of our time. Eva had such a natural talent, the lord selected her to sing in his choir.
