Irondequoit Planning Board Chairman, Andrew Hintenach, insults Town residents.
How it all began -
Scheduled 7pm, Irondequoit Planning Board meeting on 11/23/09, rescheduled to 5:30 ... could not have been a worse time for most residents ... a working week day - We were lucky that we have that extensive physic ability to learn of the change of time though ... 40 to 50 residents learned of the time change from Sylvia Browne, and made the effort to attend - some of us went to great lengths to be there.
The house was full, but not the board - they were one (1) man short to provide a quorum. Fast forward to 6:15 (btw, that is 15 minutes short of an hour late... for those that are counting) and board member Jay Ricci wanders in, with little efforts of apology. I am paraphrasing ... but is was something like "I have a day job"
Really, Jay? ... so do most of us, and we are here. And, we have been waiting close to an hour for you to begin the meeting that should have really been at 7pm anyway. That, I can handle, but what followed blew me out of my seat.
Just minutes before the Pledge of Allegiance, we have a comment from our very own Chairman, Andrew Hintenach - a comment that I would have never expected - with follow up to the complaints from the audience that had been waiting (what seemed like forever) AND, after NO personal apology from he, the chair - "How's that, you guys can all go home" with a hand gesture to towards the door... then, the continuation "you sit there bitching about me"
Andrew, Is that really the message that you want to provide to the residents of our fine town? Please tell us it was a Freudian Slip ... LOL ... because I believe it to be your best shot - and probably the closest chance you have in crawling out of this one.
Andrew! ... Had you learned nothing from Attorney Pat Malgeri and his "Hat Trick" comment?... or Councilman, John Perticone's words "go back home" ? You, the Chairman of the PB ... You, of all board members ... should be the example, and you failed miserably last night in not fulfilling that appointed position respectfully. The residents deserve a public apology! ... Waiting!
Wow, until now, I have been in your court ... at least it has been more often than not. Since last night, I am amazed ... embarrassed ... and very disappointed.

Whoops ... well lookie there, Andrews follow up comment seems to have fallen off the page (poof!) - not to worry, I saved it ... ah, hanging around that Sylvia Browne sure has its benefits, huh?
