I present to you, vintage, footage of the, introduction of contestants & the naming of the Top Ten, for the 1985, Female Impersonator Of The Year Pageant.
A special thanks to Mike Bohr and the Chris Gonzales Gay Library, in Indianapolis, Indiana for the use of their materials.
Much love, LaNora
I'm a young guy, but I've had the pleasure of providing special security for major drag pageants in Baltimore for the past 5 years and I've met at least 4 of these gorgeous queens to the best of my memory. I live for these ladies and am proud to be a protector of the Queens.

@donnygemini - This really was one of the most fun and exciting times in my life. I worked around the country with almost all of those fabulous creatures and have memories with them, great memories, that are amazing!

What a true...true service you are doing for us...not only for sentimental reasons, but also sharing history, gay history for all the generations to come. Each of those 30 are special, not only because of their talent, but I wonder how much money, all combined did those 30 raise for A.I.D.S. research in their lifetime? If some of you can recall[ if you are as old or close to as old as me] the volunteer drag shows were the very first vehicle to start raising money. Not enough credit is given

I worked with Jennifer Foxx back when I lived in Detroit, MI. I was a drag king/queen and worked with her in two shows. She is nothing but very gracious.

@butchboy35 You and me both. Naomi was my neighbor, and running buddy when I lived in Houston. We had the best time together. Gawd... I miss her.
