Soviet forces used Molotov cocktails and anti-rifles to destroy tanks. German tanks added armored skirts to the sides of their tanks to deflect the blast of anti-tank shaped charges. (GDH DESCRIPTION)

German infantry became very efficient in knocking out tanks with infantry. The Panzerfäuste (Panzer fist), Panzerschreck (tank shocker), and magnetic mine were all used with great effect.

Logistical and maintenance support was critical for tanks. German Tiger and Panther tanks proved to be a nightmare for support units. The Tiger and Panthers were the best tank on the field as long they functioned properly. The great draw back, to these amazing tanks, was the support required to keep them in fighting condition.
