On this episode of On Two Wheels, it's Part Two of MotorCyclist magazine's Class of 2012 shootout. This time around the staff is testing the best Europe has to offer, with the 2-time and defending champion Aprilia RSV4 taking on the BMW S1000RR, MV Agusta F4R, and Ducati's highly anticipated 1199 Panigale S. The bikes face the same wringer as their Japanese counterparts in Part One, with testing on the street, dragstrip, and of course the racetrack. Will Europe's ultra-elite live up to the hype?

Not quite true old bean, in the litre class the Duke, the Guzzi MGS 01 and the KTM RC8R are indeed v twins but the European bikes have a fair mix of engine configurations with the Beemer being an in line four, the Prilia being a V4 the MV F4 being an inline 4 the Benelli Tornado an inline triple and in the 600 sports bikes the Trumpet Daytona is a Triple. Interesting to note that the sales of European bikes has quadrupled whilst Japanese bike sales are tumbling.

the Ducati is the most professional bike which you don't want cause you only want comfort which is hard to achieve on a sports motorcycle. so this is pointless to say 1 is the best

Is this a joke? You test 4 bikes over a period of just a couple days and declare one bike beats them all?

Good video overall... I wish the editing was a bit better - like when the MV was going around the track and the audio was clearly of a V twin machine. Also When the 1/4 mile was coming up someone said now it's time to put the Italian bikes to the test... I guess someone forgot that BMW is German...

I have personally seen two S1000RRs come apart at the race track.

I can second that, after only a three day tour through the Alps I wished Kawasaki had had an option for heated grips on the Z750R, but then again I probably wouldn´t have been wise enough to choose it... I had to learn the hard way! ;-)
