RE: Asians in the Library (Alexandra Wallace)

*Let me clarify-- the example I used about legal repercussions for racism in France was NOT a calling for the implementation of such laws here in the U.S. Said laws would, obviously, not fare well here anyway because we are entitled to our First Amendment rights, and that is beautiful. However, the purpose of the example was to emphasize the fact that racism SHOULD be taken seriously, many remain indifferent! Does it not speak volumes that other countries set laws for racism? Whether or not we all agree or disagree with this is another matter, but I feel strongly about taking racism seriously.

I'm really into studying language and it pisses me off to end when people use "ching chong" to imitate asian languages. I mean, christ, im not above cracking jokes about other cultures, but at least take a little time to learn about what you're making fun of so you don't sound like an ignorant ass.
