About 10 years ago I was a huge AFI fan. I thought they were the future of bay area punk. Not so much a fan of the recent stuff. Nothing against them, i just like what they were doing in the begining. Anyways, Rancid is one of my all time favorites.

why fuck AFI?? there older stuff is fuckin rockin!! and im not even going to touch on "sellin out".. too many people are consumed by whats punk and whats not... theres too much segregation.. the punk mentality is "do what you fuckin love to do and fuck whoever trys to stop you or disagrees" it DOES NOT matter if you spend hours fashioning your studded vest or if you look the part... its about your life and what you want to do with it and its about THE MUSIC!!! not the fuckin look!!!!

Okay, fine. But all I'M trying to say is that youre saying AFI sold out in the genre of punk, but they're not TRYING to be a punk band. And you linked the Blaqk Audio CD to that. I don't care if you don't like BA, but you shouldn't be linking it to AFI selling out, they're two totally seperate bands, the end.
At one time, yes, they may have considered themselves a punk band, a hardcore band, whatever, but thats not what theyre trying to do anymore. So I dont see how they 'sold out' in punk.
