Uncle John Wilder & the Plymouth Vermont Old Time Barn Dance Orchestra made only two recordings in 1926 but Uncle John was already over eighty years old! He was born in 1845 making him in a very elite group of fiddlers that recorded and were born pre-1850.
The material in this video is derived from an original flier advertising the group.
This is neat. I'm glad to see someone put together this piece of American history for future generations to see. Thanks.

The man you hear calling is my Great Grandfather Herbert Moore. I never knew him as he died 8 years before I was born. How great to hear him on UTube! Any more recordings of the Plymouth Old Time Band? They appeared on Broadway and also played at The White House

Can you add the year (or approximate year) the photo (the one with the bass drum that has the band's name on it) was taken?

Two things of great interest:
1) The use of the term "Old-Time" on the bass drum ("old-time" is supposed to have been a marketing term applied primarily to Appalachian music, so seeing it used to refer to fiddle-based music from New England is very interesting!).
2) The use of a clarinet (?) in an old-time band
