Science Raps Challenge 2009

Science Raps Challenge is a new competition organised by the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre at Univeristy College Cork and Teagasc Moorepark for Science Week Ireland 2009. Science Rapper Jonathan chase challenges you to video a rap for Science Week Ireland 2009 on the theme of "Celebrating Innovation and Creativity" showing how innovation and creativity contribute to science and innovation. Great prizes (laptops and Flip video cameras) for 16 years and under and 17 years and over. 2 prize winners in the category for 17 years and over: David Genesis Jackson for his rap video entitled Genesis Lab Rat Rap Irish Hip Hop and Spectrometry Rap from Sean Hassett, Robin Flynn and Conor Conway, of Presentation College Headford Co. Galway.

In the Under 17 category, first prize Karimah Gambo from St Josephs College, Lucan Science Raps Challenge rap. 2nd Chloe Murphy, St Vincents, Cork for her rap entitled Electronics.

Winner will be announced at opening of Discovery 2009 on Saturday 14th November in City Hall Cork. jon Chasewill be there to present the prize and will be at our stand for the afternoon
