My pvc instrument

Me playing my blue man group pvc instrument.
The paddles are made out of that black interlocking excercise floor mat stuff. I cut the mat out into paddle shapes and then wrapped duct tape around them to give them rigidity. I put a piece of cardboard at the neck for extra support.

@IamaColdplaygirl The site i used to build this was pvc. natetrue. com This small diameter pipe probably cost me around $100. If you want to use larger pipe, it will probably cost 2x as much

try using 3 inch wide it will give it a more clear sound but nice job

I wanted to use 2 inch, but the small stuff i used was all i could afford :(

I've seen inside the Blue Man PVC pipes from their 1st DVD. They have drilled in "pickups" to the walls of the top of the PVC i guess to amplify the sound. Does your set up have pickups? Very nice by the way.

Dude, I wanted to build an instrument like this in high school. I even bought a bunch of big expensive PVC, but then I just never got around to finishing the project.
