Ok, thanks a lot. So what I had in mind was correct. I just needed it clarified for sure. Thanks a lot. Also, I like the fact that you chose to use the GH2 as the example, because that's what I'm buying for. (I'm obviously not buying these lenses though, I'm a bit of a noob for these beasts).

a 50mm lens on a 5D is still a 50mm on a 7D and still a 50mm on an AF100.. a 50mm is a 50mm no matter what brand the lens is.. the thing is, the crop factor is the issue.. say you have a shot with two cameras set up.. on is a 5D and the other is GH2 and you want both the camera to have the same field of view.. you have a 50mm on the 5d.. if you want to have the same field of view of the 5D on the GH2 that has a 2x crop factor, then you need to use a 25mm lens on the GH2 that has 2x crop factor

So, if I put the 50mm Compact Prime on a MicroFourThirds camera, will it still effectively produce a 50mm focal length, or will it conform to the 2x crop factor of the sensor? I really need an answer to this.
